Your fertilization program should generally run from March to November. The lawn will benefit most if the majority N fertilizer is applied from late summer through fall. You should apply less during spring and little to none during summer, except if you water frequently or remove clippings. Use a rotary spreader to distribute the fertilizer and remember to return any particles that landed on hard surfaces to the turf.
